CAMPING AREA POLICIES

Registration

  • All guests must check-in upon arrival. Arrival times will be scheduled with each family ahead of time.

  • Campsite occupancy is a maximum of 8 people per site (including guests).

  • Any guests not listed on your Registration Form are required to register and check-in upon arrival.

 General Policies

  • Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. 

  • Please provide adequate supervision for children at all times. 

  • Speed limit is 5 mph on camping area roads. 

  • NH State Law requires bike helmets for children under 16.  Bicycles should be ridden slowly down the hills, being mindful of pedestrians. Stop at all STOP signs. 

  • Alcoholic beverages of any kind are prohibited

  • We are a pet free facility.  Contact the office for local boarding options.

  • Off road vehicles are not permitted. Golf carts are accepted with proof of insurance.

  • The possession or discharge of firearms and fireworks are not permitted.

Facilities

  • All facilities and programs are available to camping area guests. 

  • Please keep camping area and facilities neat and clean at all times.

  • Please remove trash and any unused equipment such as old tarps or palettes.

  • Please limit signs, décor, and ornaments and keep sites neat and presentable. Staff reserves the right to address any sites that are unkempt or cluttered. 

  • One picnic table per site.  Do not remove tables to or from adjoining sites.

  • Campsites are limited to 1 full-size camper with hookups.  A 2nd small camper is permitted, but with no hookups.  A small camper is considered to be a tent, a pop-up camper or a hard shell camper not to exceed 16 feet in length.

  • Tarps and covers can be used to protect the roof of a camper, but may only be used to provide coverage of an expanded area of a campsite if it is done tastefully.

       

Fires

  • Fires are a MAJOR hazard. For your protection and the safety of your neighbors, please use extreme caution with all fires.

  • Fires may ONLY be kindled in the fire ring.

  • Firewood is available for sale near the tennis courts for $5.00 per armload.  Please pre-pay with the office or Snack Shack.

  • Any dead trees can be used for firewood at no charge.

  • Cutting of LIVE TREES is NOT allowed ANYWHERE on the grounds.

Parking

  • Do not park on camping area roads or on other sites.

  • Limit of one car parked per site. Additional vehicles may be parked in the lot across from the tennis courts.

Emergencies

  • In case of emergency in the camping area, sound your car horn repeatedly.

  • Please limit use of car horn to emergencies only. 

  • Use your cell phone to call 911.

  • Wait for emergency vehicles at lake road.

Regular Household Trash

  • Please bring your trash to the dumpster by the Lower Bathhouse

  • Please recycle as much as possible in the bins provided by the Lower Bath House.   

Large Items

  • Carry in. Carry out. 

  • You are responsible for the proper disposal of any non-household trash items. Please do not leave large items at campsite or maintenance dumpsters for trash pickup as the Town of Swanzey charges fees to dispose of them properly. 

  • Please contact the office if you have questions. 

 Propane Tanks

  • Propane tanks are not serviced by Pilgrim Pines. Propane service can only be provided by a licensed company.  You may make arrangements with our fuel supplier, Rymes Propane & Oil at 603.357.4321 – they will be happy to help you. 

 Sundell Pavilion & Grill

  • Sundell Pavilion usage is by reservation only with the office. 

  • Please abide by all posted guidelines.

 Water

  • Please limit water usage to personal use only. Exceptions will be made when closing up campers at season’s end.

  • Please use non-phosphate soaps in order to protect the ecology of the area. The use of soap in the camping area pond or in Swanzey Lake is prohibited.

  • Any use of toilets, bathing, or showering without sewer hook-up is prohibited.

Gray Water and Sewage

  • All Season Siters who have a potable water connection on their trailer are required to connect their trailer to the sewerage hookup provided on their approved site.

  • All campers on any site for less than three weeks, with a potable water connection are required to either connect to the sewerage system or transport their gray or black water wastes to the dumping station.

  • All waste water (gray or black) must be disposed of either in the sewerage system via site connections or at the dumping station.

  • No waste water of any kind can be dumped on the ground. 

  • The dumping station is located near the Upper Bath House to the left of the Ash Bunkhouse. 

  • Any non-full hookup site may use the dumping station at a $5/use charge that can be paid in the office.   

Camping Area Managers

Bob & Joan Spencer (A8) and Ken & Donna Nitchie (C20) will be serving as Camping Area Managers. 

Summer Storage

  • Summer Storage (Memorial Day to Columbus Day) charge is $100/summer.  Space is limited. 

  • Trailer will be moved to a storage site if needed.

Winter Storage

  • Winter Storage charge is $100 for the winter season.

  • Season Siters are requested to leave a copy of their trailer key in the office.

  • Clearly label your trailer or front hitch with your last name where it is big and visible.  If your trailer has changed “hands” please make sure the camper only has your name on it. 

  • Unregistered trailers left on property over the winter will be charged a property tax by the Town of Swanzey. 

 Moving

  • Moving services by PP staff cost $50 minimum per trailer or $2.00/foot.

  • If you have not chosen moving services by PP staff, then you are responsible for moving your trailer by the moving date (to be communicated via email).

  • If your trailer has not been moved by the moving date, then PP staff will move it for you and bill you for the moving charges.

  • A labor charge of $50 per hour will be charged for moving equipment to a new site.

Repairs

  • PP staff cannot take requests for repairs.
